This exceptional rum is aged 2,300 meters above sea level, "Above the Clouds," in the highlands of Guatemala, where the cooler climate slows the aging process, allowing complex aromas and flavors to develop. Zacapa XO is the result of the exclusive blending of reserve rums, aged between 10 and 25 years using the dynamic "Sistema Solera." This unique aging method involves maturing the rum in a sequence of barrels that previously held American whiskeys, sherries, Pedro Ximenez wines, and finally French oak casks that once aged cognac.
